Circa 1901 Pullman Built Wooden Private Railcar, cottage and property in Wisconsin (Reference 8000)

NOTICE, This Rail Car can be purchased separately for $150,000!

Historic 1901 Presidential Railcar with elegant antique mahogany interior. Once used by Teddy Roosevelt and preserved by a famed railroad artist, this beautiful railcar is now incorporated into a private cottage retreat. Built for all seasons' occupancy, this retreat is located a few minutes from the famed recreation areas of Wisconsin Dells where numerous attractions and hundreds of restaurants abound. A five star opportunity to own the perfect retreat.

The railcar was originally built for the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway Company in 1901 as their Private Car No. 40, “Illinois”. The railcar was rebuilt in 1951.

Currently the car is located on a panel track under a protective storage pavilion, with one end, the dining room end, incorporated into a building (abutted). The car itself, with its contents, is considered a very rare historical artifact of the period of wooden railcars.

This unique piece of railroad equipment is in itself an attraction, a wonderful example of American industrial revolution railroad history and the early Pullman Company railcar era.
